Ole Miss Prepares for First Home Game against Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns
As the No. 14 ranked Ole Miss Rebels prepare to take on the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday, which will be the first time the team plays at home inside the Vaught in the 2014 season.
The Rebels took to the practice fields on Tuesday afternoon and endured the heat, though the effort was not up to Coach Hugh Freeze’s standards.
The coaches and team both have learned a lot about themselves, but going deeper into the SEC, they will need to decide where they want to be.
Throughout the first two games of the season, senior quarterback Bo Wallace has made the most improvement since he has been at Ole Miss.
Wallace has righted the ship since his three interceptions in the first half against Boise State, throwing 51 connective passes without an interception. Throughout the first two games, Wallace has thrown for 707 yards.
The Ragin’ Cajuns will be coming into Oxford with a record of 1-1 on this young season after a 28 point loss to in-state rival Louisiana Tech.
Louisiana’s defense allotted the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech 533 yards of total offense. The Ole Miss defense held Vandy to only 167 yards of total offense and was very stout on goal line defense.
Moving forward this season, the Rebels need to fix a few minor errors and work on goal line packages.
The high hopes for this season are a deep run into the SEC and the chemistry that the team is building is a key. Then putting what they learn in practice to work on the field on game day.
Ole Miss and Louisiana kick off at 3 p.m. Saturday and can be seen on the SEC Network.
