Friday, the Rebels will face Mercer in the annual Kids Day Game at Noon followed by a 7 p.m. match versus Jacksonville State.
NOTING THE REBELS
• The Rebels captured the Memphis Invitational this past weekend, defeating Memphis (3-2), Arkansas State (3-1) and UT-Martin (3-1) to win their second consecutive tournament title.
• Junior Nakeyta Clair, sophomore Aubrey Edie and junior Ty Laporte were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Clair earned Most Valuable Player honors for the second week in a row.
• Nakeyta Clair was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance at Memphis.
• The Rebels are 7-0 to start the year for the first time since the 2007 season. They are also the only SEC team still undefeated on the season.
QUOTING COACH McROBERTS
“At this point, we’re pleased that we’re the only SEC team that’s undefeated. We know that we have a long way to go, and we know the schedule gets tougher from here on out. We’re glad that we have our next seven matches at home. We expect this to be another competitive tournament. We’re glad we’re finally home.”
