Oxford Daily Crime Report for Tuesday, Sept. 2
The Oxford Police responded to five alarms, four disturbances, four civil matters, three careless drivings, two improper parkings, two welfare concerns, a 911 hang-up call, a petit larceny, a fire department assistance, a motorist assistance, a suspicious person, a suspicious activity, a suspicious vehicle, and a residential burglary at 1700 Anderson Road.
The Oxford Police also investigated nine wrecks, issued 22 tickets, and made five arrests for the following charges: (2) contempt of court warrants served, a possession of alcohol by minor, shoplifting with false pretense and a stop-sign runner with disorderly conduct and a DUI to first degree.
The Oxford Police discovered 3 code enforcement violations: improperly parked boat, improperly parked trailer and littering.
The University Police responded to a service call for an ambulance at Minor Hall, accidental property damage by a car on All American Drive, an accidental hit and run at Rebel Drive, an accidental hit and run at Deaton Hall, larceny at Lamar Hall, and an accidental property damage on Hill Drive.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to downed power lines on Coliseum Drive and a fire alarm at Belk Boulevard.
