In honor of National Banana Split Day Monday, the Wesley Foundation set up the longest banana split in Oxford with the help of a gutter, aluminum foil and plenty of bananas, ice cream and toppings for the splits. More than 200 students attended the event, a sweet end to the first day of classes at Ole Miss.

The Wesley Foundation will also host Blues and Burgers on the Lawn at 6 p.m. Wednesday with blues band David Dunavent and the Evol/Love Band from Clarksdale performing. For more information, contact the Rev. Eddie Willis via email or at (662) 402-2427.
