After a long break and an anxious offseason, the Ole Miss Rebels open the 2014 season Thursday night inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta against the Boise State Broncos.
The Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game kicks off at 7 p.m. on ESPN (Metrocast channels 23 and HD 723; DirectTV channel 206) or listen to the play-by-play on the Ole Miss Football Radio Network or Sirius XM Satellite Radio (Sirius 108, XM 190).

The Rebels are a force to be reckoned with after back-to-back winning seasons and two bowl victories. Ole Miss is currently ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press pre-season poll, a good omen for Rebel fans.
Senior quarterback Bo Wallace is the SEC’s top returning quarterback from last season and is expected to break several career records for passing and total offense in 2014.
This season’s Rebel receivers include sophomores Laqoun Treadwell, Quincy Adeboyjo and senior Vince Sanders. The Ole Miss defense is projected to be one of the tops in the conference with defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, linebacker Deterrian Shackelford, defensive backs Cody Prewitt and Mike Hilton, and defensive end CJ Johnson.
Sophomore tight end Evan Engram is on the John Mackey Award watch list after a breakout freshman season landed him on the All-SEC second team.
Boise State Broncos
Former Bronco QB Bryan Harsin (1995-99) is ready to kick off his inaugural year as head football coach in Atlanta Thursday night. The Broncos finished the 2013 season 8-5, with a loss to Oregon State in the Sheraton Bowl. Boise State is picked as the preseason favorite to the win the Mountain West Conference for the fourth year in a row.
Rebels beware: Junior running back Jay Ajayi rushed for 1,425 yards on 249 touches with 18 rushing touchdowns, the eighth-most in the country last year. Senior WR Matt Miller is another Bronco the Rebels will need to keep an eye on. As a junior, Miller recorded a single-season record of 88 passes caught for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Thursday will be the first-ever meeting between the Rebels and Broncos. It will also be the first time for Ole Miss to take part in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, but the second for Boise State (they defeated No. 19 Georgia 35-21 on September 3, 2011).
