The Oxford Daily Crime Report for August 19-20
The Oxford Police Department responded to following incidents on August 19th: three welfare concerns, three improper parking, two petit larceny, two alarms, two Fire Department assistance, one ambulance assist, two suspicious activity, one suspicious vehicle, one careless driver, one disturbance, and one trespassing.
OPD also investigated five wrecks, issued 33 tickets, and made two arrests on the following charges: careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI first degree; and speeding and driving with a suspended drivers license.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls on August 19th: a cancelled call at 1206 Office Park Drive, a cancelled call at Natural Products, a cancelled call due at Pi Beta Phi house, a fire alarm system testing at Lamar Lounge, an electrical box shorted out at Tennis Complex on Price Street, and a cancelled call due to the sprinkler system putting out the fire caused by a frying oil flash at the Connection apartment complex.
The University Police Department responded to the following events on August 19th: traffic assistance at Stewart Hall and on Women’s Terrace, vandalism at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and stopped two vehicles on campus for traffic violations.

The Oxford Police Department responded to following incidents on August 20th: four alarms, two disturbances, two lost properties, two suspicious people, two suspicious vehicles, one suspicious activity, two petit larceny, unauthorized use of another credit card, one careless driver, one welfare concern, one counterfeit currency, one ambulance assist, and an improper parking.
OPD also investigated 10 wrecks, issued 29 tickets, and made five arrests the the following charges: contempt of court warrant served; possession of drug paraphernalia; speeding and DUI first; careless driving and DUI first; and careless driving with no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI to first degree.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to calls made August 20th: a cancelled call due to someone pulling the fire alarm at Martindale Hall, an A/C motor locked up at Lenny’s Sub Shop, a tree limb fell on a power line at 108 Sivley Street, and a cancelled call at the Phi Mu sorority house.
The University Police Department responded to following incidents on August 20th: possession of drug paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall, vandalism at Stockard Hall, a car wreck at the Union lot, a car wreck at Minor Hall, and assisted with traffic at Rebel Drive and Dormitory Row North.
