Freshman Epps Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Sammy Epps, a highly regarded Ole Miss recruit expected to see playing time this season at slot receiver and tight end was arrested Friday evening. around 11 p.m.

Charges were marijuana possession and driving without a license. He was booked in Lafayette County Detention Center and later released.  Epps is scheduled for a court appearance and Coach Hugh Freeze has said he will reserve comment until all the facts are gathered.

Epps entered Ole Miss at 6-5,  215 pounds from Greenwood, Miss., where he played his high school ball at Greenwood High. Coming out of high school, Epps was rated as a 4-star prospect and the 10th-best tight end in the country.
