Ole Miss' Lewis Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar
Ole Miss men’s golfer Joe Lewis was among 207 Division I players to be named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Wednesday.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum of cumulative grade point average of 3.2.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, Lewis holds a 3.29 GPA in business management. He played in all 11 tournaments last season for the Rebels and finished third on the team with a 73.94 stroke average. Lewis tied for 22nd at the Old Waverly Collegiate with a three-round score of 218 to help lead the Rebels to a third-place finish and tied his career-low tournament score with a three-day total of 212 at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic.
Off the course, Lewis was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third time this season.
