Upscale Retail Development Underway on Old Cannon Motors Site

The Blackburn Group, LLC, is developing Highland Court, an upscale retail complex on West Jackson Avenue in Oxford. The development is located approximately 700 yards from the main entrance to campus and has exceptional frontage along West Jackson Avenue, the major retail corridor.
The Ole Miss Athletics Official Team Store, satellite ticket office, satellite Athletics Foundation office and the IMG College Ole Miss sports marketing team are the anchor tenants.
“We are thrilled about the new Ole Miss Athletics presence on Jackson Avenue as it is such an important corridor for fans and donors,” said Stephen Ponder, Senior Executive Associate Athletics Director. “This new space will be a convenient one-stop experience for Rebel fans that want to buy tickets, become a donor, buy gear, and more.”
The 48,000-square-foot infill development is on the site previously occupied by Cannon Motors and for decades by predecessor auto dealers. Highland Court will consist of four freestanding buildings, patios, and green space.
“With an upscale look and vibrant feel, Highland Court will afford customers an experience to shop, dine, and relax in a fashionable atmosphere that is unique to the Oxford market,” said David Blackburn of the Blackburn Group, LLC.
While the project is underway, a temporary Ole Miss Athletics Official Team Store has been placed at the location and will open to the public Thursday, July 10. The project broke ground in early June.
The Ole Miss Team Store is set to join Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, Boneheads Grilled Fish & Piri Piri Chicken, Gould’s Day Spa & Salon, and Hot Yoga Plus, along with other tenants. Salsarita’s is a fast-casual Mexican concept out of Charlotte, North Carolina, rapidly growing its presence in Mississippi; Boneheads Grilled Fish & Piri Piri Chicken is a fast-casual healthy and fresh fish and chicken concept; Gould’s is a salon and day spa out of Memphis; and Hot Yoga Plus is a leading hot yoga studio in the Southeast ,offering 26 power flow and restorative classes.
