The Oxford Daily Crime Report for Monday, June 9
This is the Oxford Crime Report for Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8.
Oxford Police Department responded to the following incidents: six welfare concerns, two noise complaints, 13 alarms, five suspicious activities, five ambulance assists, two fire department assists, two recovered properties, trespassing, an animal assist, a parking complaint, five disturbances, six auto burglaries, five other agency assists, two house burglaries, assault, two lost properties, credit card fraud, counterfeit currency, two malicious mischiefs, larceny, embezzlement, shoplifting, robbery, and a code violation.
OPD also responded to two seven wrecks, issued 30 traffic citations, and made ten arrests on the following charges: possession of marijuana; three possessions of drug paraphernalia; careless Driving and DUI 1st; DUI 1st; careless driving and DUI 1st; no headlights, Careless Driving and DUI 3rd; careless Driving, no Insurance; DUI 1st; and consumption of alcohol on city streets.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to eight calls: Renasant Bank on the Square for burned popcorn; Oxford Middle School where kids where playing in the gym and one hit the pull station fire alarm; Denton Hall where someone accidentally knocked the cover off the pull station, causing the alarm to be activated; a public assistance call; a tree fell on power lines on South 8th Street; a second floor smoke detector malfunction in the Turner Center; a blown transformer and a downed power line in the parking lot of the Delta Steak Company; and a caller advised blown transformer, but the call was unfounded.
The University Police Department made five vehicles stops on Hathorn Road; responded to a call at the the Indoor Practice Facility for grand larceny; investigated a wreck at the Northgate Apartments; and assisted with traffic detail on All American Drive.
