The Oxford Daily Crime Report for Tuesday, June 3
The Oxford Police Department responded to seven wrecks, two fire assists, seven alarms, six disturbances, two suspicious persons, two shoplifting reports, and one harassing phone call.
OPD also issued 13 citations and made three arrests on the following charges: public intoxication; speeding, running a stop sign and DUI first; and shoplifting.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to three calls on Monday: a third floor bedroom smoke detector malfunction on Cullen Road, a blown transformer on Jefferson Ave., and a call to the Residential College when a kitchen hood-vent activated a smoked detector.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents: a motor vehicle accident at Crosby Hall, a hit-and-run near the University Police station, larceny at the Turner Center, an ambulance assist at the baseball stadium, two vehicle stops on Hathorn Road, one at University Place, and one on Rebel Drive for either improper equipment or speeding.
