The Oxford Daily Crime Report for Friday, May 23
The Oxford Police Department responded to four disturbances, six alarms, an ambulance assist, three suspicious activates, an animal complaint, a careless Driver, two motor vehicle assists, shoplifting, a parking complaint, harassing phone calls, littering and a code violation.
Oxford Police issued 16 traffic citations, investigated seven wrecks and made nine arrests on the following charges: alcohol possession by a minor; two DUI 1st; two public intoxication; disorderly conduct; failure to yield to a traffic control device, driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance; and driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance and DUI 2nd.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to one call at the Campus Creek apartment complex, Apt. 301 I, at 1:16 a.m. when a stove element burned out.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop on Rebel Drive for improper equipment; a suspicious person at the Physical Plant office; a suspicious vehicle at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium; larceny and burglary at Deaton Hall for taking items from a car; larceny; fraud; serve a warrant to a non-campus building or property; and grand larceny at the Campus Walk apartments.
