A Glance at Day One of the SEC Baseball Tournament
Opening day of the 2014 SEC baseball tournament in Hoover, Ala. showcased eight teams vying for the last four spots in the double elimination portion of the tournament. This year is the first time 12 teams play for the tournament crown.
As the day began, the two teams from Tennessee faced one another. With the win over Tennessee, Vandy will take on the LSU Tigers Wednesday morning.
Game two on the day was Texas A&M versus the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Razorbacks came into Hoover ready to play as they shutout A&M 4-0.
The Razorbacks will now face Ole Miss on day two and A&M will return to College Station, Tex. to wait their fate of being selected into the field of 64 for the NCAA tournament.
In game three, the Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 7-1 to advance to Wednesday also.
On Wednesday evening, Kentucky will face the Florida Gators.
The last game on day one showcased the Georgia and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Miss. State defeated Georgia 5-4. MSU will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks Wednesday night.
