Tunes & Tails Returns With Crawfish, Beer, and Special Live Music
In its third year, a special event returns to Oxford, providing tasty fun during the calm after graduation.
Tunes & Tails, presented by Renasant Bank and Yalobusha Brewing and hosted by the Oxford-Ole Miss Rotary Club is Saturday, May 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. The Oxford-Ole Miss Rotary Club has been making plans for the third annual event for the past several months with children’s activities, all-you-can-eat crawfish, and live music by two of Memphis’s finest.
Tickets for the event are $20 plus $5 for a bottomless cup from Water Valley’s very own Yalobusha Brewing Company. Children get in free, and there will be children’s meals available for $2. The day will begin at 3 p.m. with Memphis songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart playing, followed by the Memphis Dawls at 5 p.m. to round out the event.
This year the Oxford-Ole Miss Rotary Club has partnered with More Than A Meal to be the benefactor of funds raised through Tunes & Tails.
“We’re really excited about the partnership with a great local charity that does so much for Oxford schools. The event is a great way to bring the whole family out to support our community,” said Mary Allyn Hedges, Tunes & Tails committee member. More than a Meal provides fellowship, friends and warm meals to people of the community every Tuesday in Oxford.
Tunes & Tails is the largest fundraiser put on by the Oxford-Ole Miss Rotary Club. Other fundraisers sponsored by the club include the Oxford Christmas Store each December.
