Police Arrest Three on Fraud, Burglary Charges
Police arrested Christopher Hillhouse, 23, of Oxford, on Monday on credit card fraud. Police said Hillhouse was arrested after he attempted to use stolen credit cards in a business. Hillhouse’s bond was set at $5,000.
Police arrested D’Anthony Conley, 19, of Coldwater, on Friday on auto burglary charges. Investigators made the arrest, they said, after finding Conley on video shortly after the burglary using a credit card belonging to the victim. Conley’s bond was set at $2,500.
Police arrested Winafer Pomlee, 28, of Oxford, on a charge of credit card fraud. Pomlee used the card for over $3,000. Pomlee was arrested Friday, according to the police, after investigators identified her on video using a stolen credit card fraud. Pomlee’s bond was set at $2,500.
The Oxford Police Department investigated nine wrecks, issued nine traffic citations and made 12 arrests, on the following charges: seven trespassing; driving while license suspended, no proof of valid insurance and first-offense DUI; and careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while license suspended; auto burglary; and two credit card fraud.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of burglary of a dwelling, six alarms, two noise complaints, four disturbances, animal complaint, four suspicious activities, petit larceny, three parking complaints, fire department assist, two malicious mischief, two welfare concerns, civil matter and an ambulance assist.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents this weekend: Speeding at University Place, motor vehicle accident at Union Lot, grand larceny at Deaton Hall, petit larceny, improper equipment and a running stop sign on Coliseum Drive.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls this weekend: – Smell of electrical smoke, searched the entire building, including the attic – nothing found, BancorSouth Bank, 11:25 a.m. – Burned food activated the smoke detector, in The Village Building 134 Apt. 7, at 4:58 p.m.
