Celebrate National Visitors Week with Free Fun
The Oxford tourism office, Visit Oxford, has created a fun list of events to celebrate National Tourism Week, which continues until Friday.
Wednesday is Attractions Day. People are encouraged to come by the Visit Oxford Visitors Center to pick up a passport to all of Oxford’s famous attractions.
Some attractions are offering free admission or discounted rates during attractions day. There will also be an art activity at 3 p.m. at the University Museum.
Thursday is Music Day. Watch live, free performances on the Courthouse lawn from 5-7 p.m., by Morgan Pennington, Kelly Norris and Jesse Pinion.
Friday is Tourism Celebration Day. Stop in at the Visit Oxford office for a light lunch from noon until 2 p.m. At two o’clock there will be a Double Decker bus tour, and all tour takers will be entered to win a Double Decker Festival Prize Package. The Double Decker Historic Tour is $5 per person.
And lastly, someone will win an overnight trip to Oxford. Visit Oxford is also hosting a contest all week long, for someone to win an overnight trip to Oxford. Just go to the Visit Oxford Facebook page and tell them who you think deserves the trip and why.
