Relay for Life Cancer Fundraiser is Tonight at Old Mall
Lafayette County’s version of The Relay for Life takes place tonight at the Jackson Avenue Center.
The opening ceremony is at 6 p.m. and the event concludes at midnight.
One of the highlights of the Cancer fund-raising event should be a tug of war between the Oxford Fire Department and Police Department that starts at 7 p.m.
More than $62,000 was raised last year through Relay for Life as teams of volunteers walk to honor pledges and generate awareness for cancer survivors and those who have passed away.
Other activities at the Relay include a Kids Lap, performance by the Deborah Kaye School of Dance, The Oxford High School Dance Team and an Elvis impersonator.
Musical performances by the R&B Oxford All-Stars and others are also planned.
