Southaven, Miss. is located just 14 miles south of Memphis, Tenn. in the heart of DeSoto County. The city is conveniently located inside the Memphis metropolitan area. The total population of Southaven is estimated to be around 28,977.
Southaven was officially incorporated in 1978. It is the childhood home of well-known novelist John Grisham, and singer and songwriter Cory Branan. The city is so named because of its location south of Whitehaven.
There are several attractions for people visiting Southaven are Snowden Grove Park, North Creek Golf Course, Carriage Hills Plaza Shopping Center and nearby Arkabutla Lake.
