Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi and MHSAA officials were at Oxford High School recently to present the check to P.E. teacher and students in the school’s new gym.
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi’s “Text to Win” contest created plenty of participation from the 12 schools who reached the MHSAA’s 2013-2014 state championship football games, where the Oxford High School Chargers Football team made it to the MHSAA 5A Championship game in a matchup against Picayune.
More than 36,000 text messages were sent during the entire “Text to Win” contest. 5A football team opponents—Oxford and Picayune—were matched against each other in the texting contest. The schools with the most texts received a $1,000 check from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi designated for their physical education departments.
