Sugaree's Offers Reflections of a Southern Childhood
Sugaree’s makes cakes and baked good the old fashioned southern way.
Sugaree’s Bakery is a small-batch bakery in New Albany, Miss.
It’s dedicated to the preservation of southern culinary heritage.
The bakery, located at 110 W Bankhead Street in New Albany, has been open since 1997. Their specialty is southern layer cakes like coconut, strawberry and caramel cakes.
“We focus on depth of flavor and we aim to make the richest, moistest homemade cakes available,” their Website says
The bakers at Sugaree’s still focus on classic techniques like browning granulated sugar in an iron skillet to make their caramel sauce.
