Lane Closure This Week on Jackson Ave.
One lane will be closed on Jackson Avenue West this week, starting this morning. Traffic will continue in both directions, but traffic will decrease to one lane eastbound in the area between Heritage Drive and Alison Cove, where Canon Motors was located. The construction is in front of the former Burger King site.
The closure will allow a contractor to remove curb and sidewalk and create a new curb, in front of a new Mattress Firm store, according to Alderman Jay Hughes.
Motorists should expect the outside lane to remain closed for two to three days, Hughes said, on a 24-hour basis each day.
