Rebels Men's Basketball Hosts Vandy for Senior Day
The Ole Miss men’s basketball team closes out the 2013-’14 regular season Saturday at home against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Tip-off is set for 12:47 p.m. and fans can watch all the game action on SEC TV or listen to the play-by-play on the Ole Miss Radio Network.
Ole Miss (17-13, 8-9 SEC) hopes to end the regular season at home with a win. On Wednesday night, the Rebels suffered a huge loss to Arkansas 110-80 in Fayetteville, Ark. Senior Marshall Henderson led the team in scoring with 15 points against the Hogs.
Before the game, Ole Miss will honor Henderson as the lone senior on Senior Day. He leads the SEC with his three-point record of at least one three-pointer in each of his past 63-straight games.
Vanderbilt (15-14, 7-10 SEC) dropped its last game 57-51 to LSU on Thursday. The Commodores look to senior Rod Odom for their scoring production, as he is averaging 13.8 points per game.
As a squad, Vanderbilt ranks last in the conference in scoring offense with 60.1ppg, but ranks third in the SEC in field goal percentage defense (.402).
Saturday’s game will be the 117th time these two teams have played on the hardwood. Vanderbilt owns the all-time series advantage at 74-42, but playing in Oxford, Ole Miss holds a 30-23 game lead. Last season, Henderson and the Rebels defeated Vandy by a score of 63-52.
