Carson Otter has returned to classes at the University of Mississippi, after being assaulted while in Texas for a football game.

The Carson Otter 5k Charity Run benefiting Carson Otter starts at 3:30 p.m. today, with runners leaving from the Lyceum.
Wristbands are $20 and can be purchased in front of the University of Mississippi Student Union until 1 p.m. Sales resume for both wristbands and T-shirts at 2:30 p.m., before the race. Top runners will win prizes including a 50-inch flat-screen TV and an iPad.
The Facebook page for the event is available here. More than 150 people have expect to run or walk, according to the Facebook event.
Otter is a student at the University who underwent surgery in Texas to relieve pressure on his brain, after being attacked by a passing motorist who stopped his car and punched Otter.
He was in Austin, Texas for the Ole Miss-Texas football game on Sept. 14, when Otter was knocked to the ground. His head hit a curb, knocking him unconscious and causing his brain to swell.
Otter’s fraternity, Sigma Nu, is hosting the run to help offset his medical expenses. He has returned to the University and is attending classes, after a week in intensive care and several weeks in an Austin medical rehabilitation facility, according to the charity run’s Facebook page.
