In response to the arrest of linebackers Denzel Nkemdiche and Serderius Bryant last weekend, Coach Hugh Freeze issued this statement: “We are aware of the incidents and gathering facts. Denzel and Sederius are suspended until we know more.”
Nkemdiche was charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and failure to comply with a police officer around midnight Saturday. Oxford Police Chief Joey East described the charges against Nkemdiche as misdemeanors.
According to an article in the Clarion-Ledger, police were called to The Retreat apartments in Oxford where Nkemdiche was celebrating his 21st birthday party.

Bryant was taken in on the charge of public intoxication and disturbing the peace.
Nkemdiche tweeted to fans: “Hopefully I won’t be judged by the exaggerated claims of how I acted on my 21st birthday. I still know what’s important in life. God got me.”

I was in the army as a MP (military police), I would like to say that civilian police can be a$$holes. In the army we don’t try and bother anyone unless it is absolutely necessary. I believe a lot of civilian cops (especially younger cops) think they are better than everyone else. I always thought the main job for cops were to protect everyone, not harass them. That has been my experience in my 30 yrs on this earth. In the army, cops couldn’t get away acting like a lot civilian cops do.I have found it to be true that alot of county and town cops can be really crooked or dirty. I got pulled over in the middle of Columbia, Ms once in the middle of the night because some cop thought I might have been drinking. The next think I notice is there are 10 cops surrounding me and they made me take a breathalyzer at least 6 times and every time it came back negative. I believe ppl should be punished when they do bad things, but there are way to many laws and if the cops can solve the situation without arresting ppl, then they shouldn’t.

Ole Miss Police are ridiculously tough on these kids. He was in an apartment legally drinking on his 21st birthday. They aren’t driving and drinking but they insist on busting these kids for drinking anywhere and charging them with public intoxication. Some of them have a real God complex.
