Wicker to Help Kick Off Murphy Lane Holly Springs Development
Sen. Roger Wicker will be coming to Holly Springs, Miss. on Friday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. to kick off the grand opening of Murphy Lane, Holly Springs’s newest townhome community.
Murphy Lane is a community of 36 affordable townhomes developed by Rosedale Corporation of Oxford. Principals Britton Jones and Stewart Rutledge have teamed with numerous local officials including Mayor Kelvin Buck, immediate past Mayor Andre DeBerry, and Holly Springs Housing Authority Executive Director Alfred Moore.
Murphy Lane features granite countertops, tankless water heaters, Energy Star appliances, and numerous other high-grade amenities. Further, Murphy Lane as a community is a National Green Building Standard Bronze Certified development, and it features extensive exterior additions to make Murphy Lane a sustainable and long-term contribution to Holly Springs. Funded with Section 42 tax credits in conjunction with the Mississippi Home Corporation, Murphy Lane has become a positive example for the quality contributions tax credit housing can provide in communities.
Murphy Lane was one of only four applications in Congressional District 1 to win and the sole new construction application to win the tax credits in its funding round of 2012.
Moore said, “We are proud to have the opportunity to bring this high quality community to Holly Springs, and, considering the competitiveness of the application as well as the high demand for quality homes in Holly Springs, it is a blessing for the City.”
The total project budget was $4,253,996.00, and the General Contractor was Winters Construction of Oxford (wintersconstruction.net). If you are interested in becoming a part of the Murphy Lane community, please call 662-634-4462.
