The Ole Miss baseball team will be featured on television nine times in the 2014 season as a part of the Southeastern Conference’s television package, including five home games and two contests on ESPNU, the league office announced on Thursday.
The Rebels will play on ESPNU twice, while four games will be broadcast by CSS and three games will be carried by Fox Sports Net. Fans who want to be a part of the excitement for the 2014 baseball season live can purchase tickets through the Ole Miss Ticket office by going to www.OleMissBSB.com.
Ole Miss will host the ESPN Thursday Night baseball game on Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. CT when the Rebels kick off the weekend series against the LSU Tigers. It is the first of two broadcasts for the Rebels on ESPNU as Ole Miss will also be featured on the channel in the final weekend of the regular season at Texas A&M in a game set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
The Rebels will play on television for the first time in the 2014 season in game two of the weekend series at Alabama when Ole Miss and the Crimson Tide take the field for a 7:00 p.m. game on CSS.
Ole Miss will then play the first of four television games in the month of April with Sunday’s game against Auburn being picked up by CSS. The series finale will begin at 1:30 p.m. on April 6 at Swayze Field.
The Rebels will then play two of the three games against LSU in front of a national television audience with the series opener on Thursday night being picked up by ESPNU and the series finale on Saturday, April 19, being tabbed for a 1 p.m. start on Fox Sports Net.
Ole Miss will also be featured on Saturday, April 26, in the second game of the weekend series at Kentucky with a 12 p.m. CT start against the Wildcats.
Two of the three games against the Arkansas Razorbacks have been picked up for television with the Saturdaygame being carried by Fox Sports at 2:15 p.m. and the Sunday finale being carried by CSS at 1:30 p.m.
The Rebels’ final televised game as a part of the SEC’s television agreement will be the second game of the Texas A&M series and will be carried on ESPNU.
Ole Miss opens the 2014 season on the road with a three-game series at Stetson. The first game of the weekend series is set for a 5:30 p.m. CT first pitch on Friday, Feb. 14.
