OM Football Signees Begin Winter Intersession Classes
OXFORD, Miss. – Winter intersession classes are underway at Ole Miss and have brought a couple of new faces to the Rebel football program, as mid-year signees C.J. Hampton and Christian Morris have arrived on campus.
Hampton is enrolling early after graduating from Meridian High School, and he will be a true freshman in 2014 with four years to play for the Rebels. Morris, an offensive lineman who transferred to Ole Miss from UCLA, was previously announced as a member of the Rebel squad in December.
Hampton, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety from Meridian, Miss., was a U.S. Army All-American this season. A consensus four-star recruit and the No. 59 prospect nationally according to 247Sports.com, Hampton is listed as one of the country’s top 10 safeties by 247, Scout.com and ESPN.com. He was an all-state selection and the Region 3-6A Defensive Player of the Year after a senior season that saw him register 111 tackles and four interceptions while helping Meridian High to the 6A state semifinals. The Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection chose the Rebels over Alabama, Arkansas and Florida State.
More mid-year transfers are expected to arrive on campus later this month. These players will practice with the team beginning this spring.
