Lady Rebels Face-off Against South Alabama
Coach Matt Insell squad takes a six-game winning streak on the road
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team travels to Mobile, Ala to take on the South Alabama Jaguars tonight at 7pm. The game begins a two-game holiday road trip for coach Insell’s squad.
Ole Miss (7-4) continues to ride an impressive six game winning streak that began with Southeastern Louisiana. In the Rebels last outing, against Mississippi Valley State three-players posted double-figures in the 72-60 victory.
Junior Danielle McCray had a career-high 17 points against Mississippi Valley State, while Tia Faleru finished with her sixth double-double on the season with 18 points and 11 boards. Senior Valenica McFarland also had 20 points scored against the Delta Devils
South Alabama (2-6) has won back-to-back games after snapping a six game losing streak. In their last outing they picked up a 66-58 win over Tennessee Tech.
Meghan Dunn leads South Alabama in points averaging 11.8 per contest. She is also the only Jaguar to average double figures.
When the Rebels and Jaguars tip the ball off this evening, it will be the sixth all-time meeting. Ole Miss holds a slim lead in the series at 3-2.
