Jere Allen Donates Painting to YAC Ornament Auction
Each year, as part of the Holiday Ornament Auction hosted by the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, Jere Allen donates one piece of original artwork to be raffled during the event.
“Jere has made this kind donation for the past five years in the hope that it will inspire people to support the Arts Council by becoming members,” says Wayne Andrews, Director of the Arts Council. “Each year, I am thankful for the opportunity to see someone’s face light up as I call their name. Jere gets a kick out of it, and the whole room cheers.”
There are a limited number of $25 tickets offered each year, with all proceeds going directly back to the YAC to help fund programs throughout next year.
The Ornament Auction and drawing will be held on Thursday December 12th from 7-9 pm at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. The event is free to all Arts Council Members. If anyone is currently not a member, but would like to join the party and become one, simply visit www.OxfordArts.com for more information. Tickets for the Jere Allen drawing can be purchased through this website as well.
This year’s painting is a signed, 8”x10” oil on linen piece with an estimated value of over $750.
