Rebels Face Kansas State in the SEC/BIG12 Challenge
Rebels take undefeated record on the road.
Ole Miss returns to court on Thursday night to face the Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan, Kansas with tip-off set for eight p.m. on ESPN2.
Ole Miss (6-0) claimed the Barclay’s Center Classic Championship with a 79-76 victory over Penn State on Saturday afternoon. Senior Marshall Henderson and junior Jarvis Summers both led the Rebels in scoring with 19 points each.
The Barclay’s Championship in Brooklyn, NY marked the second exempted tournament title for the Rebels, after the 2007 San Juan Shootout under coach Andy Kennedy.
Kansas State (4-3) knocked off Central Arkansas Bears by the score of 87-54 at home on Sunday. On the season, the Wildcats have suffered losses at the hands of: North Colorado, Charlotte and Georgetown. Kansas State is led in scoring by freshman Marcus Foster who averages 13.9 points per game.
The Wildcats have been limited to 63 points or fewer in the last four games and KSU has a record of 1-3 in those contests.
The game between the Rebels and the Wildcats will be a part of the inaugural SEC/BIG12 Challenge. In the past meetings, the Rebels have won each time the have met and last time Ole Miss won by the score 86-74 back in 2009.
