The Ole Miss Rebels basketball team takes to the court this afternoon against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Brooklyn, NY as a part of the Barclay’s Center Classic. Tipoff is set for 3:30p.m. CT and will be televised on the NBCSports Network.
Ole Miss (4-0) picked up an 84-50 victory over North Carolina A&T on Tuesday. The Rebels defense stepped up in the second-half by only allowing the Aggies 17 points. Junior Aaron Jones had his second career double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.
Junior guard Jarvis Summers leads the Rebels in scoring averaging 17.3 points per game.
Georgia Tech (5-1) is averaging 77 points per game on the season. The Yellow Jackets lone loss on the season comes from the hands of the Dayton Flyers. Tech’s guard Trae Golden transferred in from Tennessee for his final season and Golden averaged nine points and three assist last year against the Rebels.
The Yellow Jackets lead the series 11-8 over the Rebels. In the last meeting between the two teams Georgia Tech won by the score of 69-54 back in 1964. Ole Miss returns to the Big Apple for the first time since the 2010 NIT Final Four.
