This time of year, when the seasons start changing, hunters know it’s time to head back into the woods in pursuit of the perfect buck.

In the weeks leading up to hunting season, opening-day hunters start stocking up for the coming season by making sure they have everything they need. Hunters Hollow in Oxford meets those needs with top-quality, affordable outdoor gear and supplies for every sportsman.

“We offer everything from archery equipment, to firearms and ammunition, to outdoor wear, to tree stands and safety equipment,” said Luke Guest, vice president of Hunters Hollow.

This well-equipped store has been a go-to spot for outdoorsmen in the Oxford community since 1988. The highly trained and well informed staff have been at their current location, 2602 West Oxford Loop, since 1991.

As customers enter the store they will see rows of apparel. On the right-side is an impressive collection of firearms. Over to the left you’ll find Ole Miss shirts. At the back of the store customers walk into a selection of camo gear, boots and bows.

“With our selection, we consider ourselves one of the top hunting stores in Mississippi,” Guest said.

Customers enjoy coming into the store and leisurely chatting with the staff about gear and what they need for a productive hunt.

“We get a ton of hunting stories,” Guest said.  “It’s great to hear about somebody having a successful hunt — enjoying exactly what they most love.  That’s the side of this business we enjoy hearing about. Sometimes they even show us their pictures or video. They’ll include their kids with bows, for example, or show us that prize picture of the trophy deer they killed.”

In June 2014 Hunters Hollow will move from its current location to Highway 6 west towards Batesville, Miss.

“The new store is going to be three times bigger than the current location at a little over 35,000 square feet. Twenty thousand of that square footage will be devoted to show room space,” Guest said.
