Arkansas Weekend Activities
For Rebel fans who are making their way to Oxford for this weekend’s game against Arkansas, the Alumni Association offers a great schedule of events for visitors and locals alike.
Starting on Thursday, all are welcome to attend the Hail and Farewell, an event observing the 50th anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy, in the Overby Center Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.
Thacker Mountain Radio is back this week at the Lyric Theatre, featuring literary guest Jimbeau Hinson and author Jack Sacco.The music will be performed live by Bluegrass Appeal and The Harmonious Harmoneers. This is a free, family-friendly event that starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening.
Across the street from the Lyric, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Ole Miss Quarterback Club will meet at the Library Sports Bar with guest speakers Keith Carter, Associate Athletics Director for Development, and head women’s basketball coach Matt Insell.
Friday tips-off the 2013-14 regular season schedule for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. As the women’s “Insell Era” opens up against Jacksonville-State and the reigning men’s SEC Champions host Troy, both at the Tad Smith Coliseum.
Saturday kicks off with a breakfast at 7 a.m. in the Gertrude C. Ford Ballroom at The Inn at Ole Miss.
