Screenings and information available 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Student Union
OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi hosts its annual Student Health Fair Wednesday (Oct. 16) in the Student Union lobby. The event, sponsored by the UM Office of Health Promotion, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving students an opportunity to learn about the many campus resources available. It includes health screenings for hearing and vision issues, HIV and blood pressure problems, along with information from several different health-related organizations.
“Typically, it’s just so students can know about their options and resources available to them,” said T. Davis, a health educator with the UM Office of Health Promotion. “It should be fun and it won’t take a lot of time.”
Dentists, chiropractors, weight management program workers and several other medical professionals will be on hand at the health fair, Davis said. Pharmacy workers will also be there to talk about prescriptions and refill services available at the Student Health Center.
