Abita to Grab Blind Pig by Its Snout
Louisiana brewery hosting special event at Oxford bar.
From the bite of the Andygator to the hop of Restoration Pale, Abita Brewing Company will turn the Blind Pig Pub & Deli into a beery bonanza when it sends personnel to the bar for an Abita Tap Takeover event from 6 to 10 p.m. on October 10.
“They’ll be taking over more than half our taps,” says Owner Jim Moore, “We’ve been very fortunate to be able to host release parties and other events for the smaller breweries, which has been great exposure for the bar … It’s exciting to finally get Abita’s attention for this type of event, plus it is a great opportunity to find out our patrons’ favorite selections.”
Moore says he requested that Abita serve the following nine beers (along with a limited amount of Abita Root Beer in bottles):
Flagship brews:
Amber
Purple Haze
Jockamo IPA
Restoration Pale
Turbodog
Seasonal Brews:
Fall Fest
Harvest Brews:
Pecan
Big Beers:
Andygator
Select:
French Connection
“We have a few selections that will always be available on tap, and the remaining taps rotate based on new selections that become available and popularity,” Moore says.
The Blind Pig Pub and Deli is located at 105 North Lamar, just off the Oxford Square.
