Indoor Advantage: Advertising Where You’d Least Expect
The sights, smells and sounds of thousands of fans on game-day is quite distracting, however, no matter how many Rebels are in the Grove nature’s call is always loud and clear.
For years fans used the restroom facilities inside University buildings across campus, until the day the Hotty Toddy Potty arrived.
To “relieve” the game-day bathroom line situation, the University introduced the Hotty Toddy Potty, multiple trailers with bathroom stalls and sinks inside. Strategically placed around campus, the University owned units are air conditioned and well maintained.
Addison Edmondson, a local businessman, saw an opportunity that most may have never thought of: to advertise to the captive audience with nothing to do while using the restroom.
“It has been an interesting and good business,” said Oxford entrepreneur and current owner of Indoor Advantage Jordan Bankhead.
With his concept, Edmondson established his company, Indoor Advantage. Indoor Advantage takes advantage of bathroom stall space, and places promotional advertising in Hotty Toddy Potty units as well as the bathrooms of Oxford’s bars and restaurants, the Oxford Convention Center and FNC Park.
“We can target for our advertisers men or women, or both. We can reach young people through facilities such as FNC Park and visitors to the community through the Convention Center,” Bankhead said.
Each potty promotion contains four advertisements and is placed on the back of the bathroom stall doors; perfect for a bored swatter.
“I think it would be fair to say that anybody who has attended a football game has visited a Hotty Toddy Potty, and you just can’t miss our advertising,” Bankhead said.
