For the first time, UM offers a limited number of reserved spots

Online vehicle registration for the 2013-14 academic year opens at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, July 1 at olemiss.edu/parking. Employees wishing to purchase a reserved spot will select their desired parking lot during registration. Should you have any questions about the online registration system, call 915-7235. Parking and transportation representatives will be available at midnight on July 1 to answer this phone line.

As part of registration, UM employees will have the option to purchase one of three hangtags, all of which are payroll deductible:

  • Park & Ride: A $30 Park & Ride hangtag allows parking in two exterior lots serviced by express shuttles that provide pickup and drop-off to Kennon Observatory, Guyton Hall and Paris-Yates Chapel every 5-10 minutes. Beginning in fall, express shuttles and all OUT buses will run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. View the Park & Ride map.
  • Reserved: A $600 Reserved hangtag allows parking in a spot designated exclusively for the hangtag holder from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. UM employees who wish to purchase one of a limited number of reserved spots will select their preferred parking lot during online vehicle registration. Reserved spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once reserved spaces in a lot have been filled, that lot will no longer be available for selection during the registration process. Please review the reserved parking map, which identifies the number of available reserved spots in each lot, and identify your top desired parking lot as well as alternate lots prior to beginning the registration process. If a spot in your preferred lot is not available, then you will have the option of requesting inclusion on the waiting list for that lot. View the reserved parking map here.

Faculty and staff will also have the option for pre-tax deductions for parking permit fees. (Click here for details and real life examples.) For more information, visit olemiss.edu/parking.
