The gritty groove is back in Marshall County.

The North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic returns this Friday and Saturday to celebrate the legacies of departed North Mississippi blues legends including Joe Callicott, Mississippi Fred McDowell, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, and Otha Turner, and the festival will once again feature many of their children and grandchildren. The event, which will feature the last performance by Blue Mountain, will be held at the corner of Highway 7 and Highway 310 at Betty Davis’s Ponderosa.

For information about tickets, directions, camping at the site, raffles and prizes, and much more, visit northmississippihillcountrypicnic.blogspot.com.
