Shelley Sells Sea Shells, What-Cha-Ma-Call-It’s Galore
Shelley Gallaspy “gives God all the glory”.
Born with a plethora of creative design talents, Gallaspy is doing what she loves as the owner of Shelley’s Shack. Yet calling the one-of-a-kind store a “Shack” seems quite modest.
From outside the old garage (once one of Paul James’ grocery stores) you might wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into. Inside the store, from floor to ceiling, the room is coated with Shelley’s signature touch. She has everything imaginable –– from paintings and antiques to gift baskets and thrift items, but it’s outside the store where her heart truly lies.
Interior and Floral design is the creative direction she is most passionate about, and with 30 years of experience, Gallaspy has a knack for her job. She can do it all: custom wall murals, parties, funerals, weddings, you name it, and she’ll be there to make it happen. With the customer service of a Southern belle, the creative insight of a magical hippie, and the compassion of a loving Christian, Gallaspy’s talents can be the key to your special event’s success.
As a religious woman, the humble Gallaspy takes no credit for any of her work. Her inspiration derives all from her faith, and she will be the first to tell you so. She is an active member in the church going community at His Harvest Ministries: a non-denominational church which first started in Gallaspy’s living room.
Now, the church has relocated out past the industrial park at the Sandra C. Mullen Family Life Center, where Gallaspy can be found attending church regularly.
Like the good ole Mississippian she is, Gallaspy relies heavily on word-of-mouth advertisement, often receiving new clients as referrals from happy customers. She doesn’t have any presence in the digital world, no website, no Facebook, and she likes it that way.
In fact, this might be the only article you can find out there featuring Shelley’s Shack. But don’t let that fool you, just take my word, or one of the many repeat customers who cant seem to get away from the unique little store.
Shelley’s Shack is located next to Dee’s Radiator on Old Highway 7N, past 3 Way Grocery. Stop on by, or give the store a call at 662-281-0489. –– William Fowler, junior Integrated Marketing Major, Meek School of Journalism and New Media
