Ole Miss and Texas will meet on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. CT on the Longhorn Network.

Ole Miss’ Sept. 14 football game at Texas will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and will be televised by the Longhorn Network.

As a Big 12 home game, TV distribution is determined by that conference and not the SEC. However, ESPN and Ole Miss are working on accommodations for Rebel fans without access to LHN.

“We appreciate the relationship Ole Miss and the SEC have with ESPN,” said Ole Miss Athletics Director Ross Bjork. “ESPN’s football programing staff notified us last week in Destin of today’s announcement, and we immediately discussed potential programming solutions for Rebel Nation. Because this is a University of Texas home game and part of the Big 12’s TV agreement, ESPN is not obligated to give us advance notice of the decision or to provide alternatives, so we appreciate their willingness and desire to work with us. We do not yet know what the accommodations will look like, but we will share them once they are known.

“We want to thank ESPN for their partnership, and we look forward to seeing our football team compete in the state of Texas, where we have so many loyal alumni.”

The night game will air live in HD from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. It will be the Rebels’ first trip to the Texas state capital since 1925 and their first game in the Lone Star state since a 21-7 win over Oklahoma State in the 2010 Cotton Bowl.

The only other Ole Miss game times already determined for 2013 are the season opener at Vanderbilt, which will kick off at 8:15 p.m. (Aug. 29), and the Egg Bowl battle at Mississippi State, which is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving (Nov. 28). ESPN will televise both contests.
