The explosion in digital technology is costly both for companies and consumers. According to AT&T, the company has invested nearly $115 billion into operations and expansion over the last five years.

While companies like C-Spire, Verizon and, most recently AT&T, have opened new stores in Oxford, these corporations are spending millions of dollars trying to meet consumers’ demands.

Today, AT&T operates 2,000 company-owned stores servicing 95.5 million wireless customers. AT&T says smartphone devices such as the Apple iPhone, has shown the enormous appetite for mobile connectivity, and the possibilities that exist in bringing that connection to the palm of your hand.

The continuing growth of the Internet and mobile devices in all areas of commerce and personal communications, fuels the demand for faster, larger capacities from the communications provider companies.

With the rapid expansion of  these services’ capabilities and capacities, comes more technologies, construction, regulation issues and much more; thus more expansion investments by communications provider companies.  It seems to be that the “mobile, mobile, mobile” future ahead will require more, more, more.

The new AT&T store in Oxford is located 1805 Jackson Ave West beside the McDonald’s.
