Tequila Tasting Tonight Benefits Arts Council
Cuestion Tequila brings one of only six certified tequila masters in nation for event
A tequila tasting presented by Oxford restaurant and bar Round Table and Cuestion Tequila will bring in the the spirit brand’s special tequila master, one of only six certified in the United States. The master will conduct a guided tour of three different types of tequila—blanco, reposado, and anejo—at the event on April 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. Tickets are $20.
Paul Lavender, a graduate of the University of Mississippi, invited his friend and importer Jason Fandrich to Mississippi.
“These are such unique tequilas, and he has taken the time to become a specialist in tequilas that a tasting with the master would be a great way to introduce this new product,” says Lavender.
The event will provide tasters with an opportunity to enjoy the three tequilas and taste a cockail by Round Table featuring one of the select tequilas. Guests will have the chance to ask questions, learn about the process, and—as with tasting fine wines—be able to look for the various subtle flavors in tequilas, from white pepper to caramel.
Proceeds from the event will support the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. For tickets, click here.
“We wanted to make this a fund community event to encourage people who may not like tequila to give it a try,” says Lavender. “The Arts Council supports a range of arts programs from the visual, performing and the culinary events.”
The Powerhouse is located at 413 South 14th Street.
