Precious Memories
As Ole Miss graduates by the thousands do on occasion, University of Mississippi alum Catherine Liu paid a recent visit to Oxford and Ole Miss to relive the times she spent in North Mississippi as a student.
Along with a note, Liu sent along a card she found while “organizing her stuff” –– a grift from her aunt that says it all.
Liu writes: “On my last day in Oxford, we dined out at Boure’, went to the Ole Miss Museum, walked the tranquil trail, visited Rowan Oak and finally headed to Faulkner’s final resting place where many … people like to toast him. All the previous memories like them live in me; grow with me.
“I love and miss my Ole Miss! Thanks for every one that I had met, talked to, became friends (with), and shared wonderful moments (with) in Oxford. There are more, but I can’t tag all. I am just very proud to be one of the Rebels, to be one of you.
