The Ole Miss baseball team continues to play on the road this weekend –– opening up SEC play at Baum Stadium on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

No. 6 Ole Miss (18-1) has won eleven straight games after failing at home to the University of Memphis on February 26th.  The Rebels are coming off a mid-week sweep of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks by scores of 10-4 and 8-3.

Sophomore Jake Overbey broke the game open for the Rebels in the eighth inning with a two-out, two-RBI double in Wednesday’s game.

No. 11 Arkansas (13-5) comes into this weekend’s series winning six straight games, sweeping San Diego over the weekend in a four-game set in addition to their two wins over Alabama A&M.  The Razorbacks are led at the plate by Redshirt Freshman Tyler Spoon hitting .388 on the season with three home runs and 23 total RBI’s.

The Razorbacks’ probable pitching rotation has freshman Trey Killian on the mound tonight. Senior Randall Fant will get the nod on Saturday and on Sunday, Arkansas will go with the arm of junior Ryan Stanek. The Rebels will send to the hill Wahl, Mayers and Smith, who have performed well for Ole Miss thus far on the season.

Ole Miss and Arkansas have met on the diamond a total of 70 times, dating back to their first meeting in 1982. The all-time series goes to the Razorbacks  at 38-32, with Coach Mike Bianco enjoying a 23-18 lead over Arkansas during his time at Ole Miss.

The Rebels and the Razorbacks face off at 6:35 p.m. tonight, 2:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Fans can catch all of the action on the radio on Q 93.7 or on Rebelvision.
