The Ole Miss basketball team returns to the Tad Smith Coliseum tonight for their final home game of the 2012-13 season to face the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ole Miss (21-8, 10-6 SEC) looks to send its three seniors out with a bang. Murphy Holloway, Reginald Buckner and Nick Williams get set to play their final regular season home game in front of Club Red and the rest of the Rebel family.
In the Rebels’ last game on Saturday, Ole Miss lost to their in-state rival Mississippi State in Starkville by a score of 73-67. Holloway led the way in scoring against the Bulldogs, posting a double double with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Junior Marshall Henderson has just passed Chris Warren for the Ole Miss single-season 3-point record with 114 on the year. Also, Henderson ranks second in the nation in 3-pointers made per game, averaging 3.9.
Alabama (20-9, 11-5 SEC) looks to bounce back from a 64-52 loss on the road to the Florida Gators over the weekend. The Tide won four straight before falling to the Gators. Alabama currently sits as the second team in the SEC standing one game ahead of the Rebels. Junior Trevor Relford leads the Tide in scoring averaging 15.4 points per game and is shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Ole Miss and Alabama will meet for the 171st time tonight, as the Crimson Tide holds a 117-53 lead in the all time series. This marks the first season since 1968 that the teams have not played each other in a home-and-home series and as SEC west rivals. Both teams have split the season series 11 of the last 14 years. Ole Miss holds a two-game advantage over the Crimson Tide of 40-38 in Oxford.
