Puddin Place
Located at 1008 University Avenue, Puddin Place Bed & Breakfast is steps away from the Square, the University, Rowan Oak, and even the chicken-on-a-stick Chevron at University and Lamar. The home was built in 1892 and is known to historians as The Yates House. The bed and breakfast itself features three total suites: two in the main house and one in the carriage house out back.
The atmosphere is Old South country farmish. The eleven fireplaces, plus dozens of antiques help create that vibe. Great news for families, children are also allowed at the inn. Guest are also treated to a gourmet breakfast.
The Yates House was placed on the list of National Historic Places in 1980.
