This Mutt Will Hunt: Cory Branan at Proud Larrys’
Singer/songwriter returns to Oxford tonight

Southaven-bred, Memphis-based Cory Branan is on the road a lot. The cycle brings him back to Oxford tonight at Proud Larrys’, touring on his most recent Bloodshot Records release, Mutt.
Here’s the part of the article where the writer usually defines, classifies, labels, tags, and stamps the artist’s work or gives you reference points to compare it to. Not today. As the title implies, Mutt is not a record one can trot out at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, as it doesn’t qualify as any specific breed. And, it would pee on the rug anyway.
You don’t know what a mutt will be like until you take it in and spend some time with it. In that spirit, take a listen and decide for yourself if you want this mixed-breed troubadour to lick you on the face at Larrys’ tonight—or, perhaps, more appropriately, to give your ears a wet willie.
