Help Phi Theta Kappa Reach Their Goal

Walking by the Student Union at lunch time is like going to the mall around the Holidays. It’s crazy! With all the students filing in and out, it’s the perfect location to set up a table and try to attract students’ attention –– which is exactly what Phi Theta Kappa has been doing for the past two days.
PTK is an alumni chapter at Ole Miss that stems from an international honors society for two year college and transfer students.
The members have dedicated their time since early November to selling t-shirts to help raise the money necessary to pay for their leadership council and advisors to go to their annual convention held in San Jose California in early April.
T-shirts are $15 each, and PTK hopes to sell enough to reach their goal –– a little more than $3,000.
“If we don’t raise enough, we’ll have to pay out of pocket, and we’re already going to have to do that for food and stuff, so the more we can get the better, but we will pay out of pocket because it is worth it,” said leadership council member Haley Sims.
Look out for Phi Theta Kappa in front of the Student Union throughout the spring semester and on Jackson Avenue this Saturday as they visit some of the businesses and ask for donations to help reach their goal!
