I spotted this nice buck wandering around 11th Street around noon today (December 3). I was able to see him at close range before I shot this video, and I saw that his rack had at least eight points. My apologies for the quality of this video. After getting the iPhone camera going, I was creeping as quietly as possible and yet could not get close enough again.
The rut should be starting soon, so perhaps he intended to stop by Oxford Floral for a nice bouquet of roses for his sweetheart. I was hoping he needed a ride to Pontotoc to our hunting camp so he could get comfortable and wait for regular gun season to start back in a couple weeks.
