Pantry Potluck at the Pig
The Blind Pig hosts fifth annual potluck supper and food drive Tuesday
“Everybody’s welcome,” says Owner Jim Moore, who will be frying and smoking turkeys for the feast, in addition to whatever items customers bring to the fifth annual potluck supper at the Blind Pig, the cozy basement bar just off the Square, below Miss Behavin’. The event starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, and includes specials, such as $2 domestic brews, $3 imports, and a Turkey Day dance party kicking off around 10 p.m.
The real reason for the fun, communal get-together is to collect food to donate to the Pantry, an all-volunteer organization that provides a family in need with a one-week supply of food and staples. Customers should bring canned goods for donation. The Pantry’s most common clients are citizens who are temporarily out of work, people with unusually high medical bills, single mothers with limited resources and families who have lost their homes due to fire accidents.
The Blind Pig is located at 105 North Lamar Boulevard.
